The lotus flower is a very important part of Thai life. It is also the most common flower in Thailand. Found in ponds, marshes, canals and temples in Thailand.
Lotus is a flower that is associated with heavenly beings, Thailand and literature occupies a special place in Thai life.
Also be used in temples and prayers, the lotus also has properties medicine and is widely used in Thai traditional medicine. In addition, many businesses throughout Thailand are inspired by the beauty this flower.
Each year 14 full moon in October, the Lotus Flower Festival takes place at Bang Phi District Samut Prakan in Thailand. This festival is celebrated one day before the end of Buddhist Lent. Phi Bang is famous for its lotus flowers that grow here in abundance. People from all regions Thailand come here year after year, picking lotus flowers and deliver them to the monks. La Fiesta de la Flor de Lotus is regarded as one of festivals to look good in Thailand.
During the festival, the Buddha image is carried on a ship. This image is a replica of Luang Poh in the image of Buddha. People both sides of the Channel and throw lotus flowers in the boat carrying the image of Buddha. The flowers are in the spotlight Buddha, Dharma and Sangka. Local people also throw lotus flowers in the ships "of the visitor as a gesture of welcome to join the party.
According to tradition, through Buddhism in Thailand come to this neighborhood to pick flowers to offer to monks. Local people see this as a honor and I think they will be blessed by what the volunteers to keep the flowers for distribution to visitors. This tradition has been known to Lotus Festival reception or Rap Bua Festival.
