One of our stops Royal Caribbean cruise during the week from 28/04 November was Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Probably the most famous site in the region is Dunn's River Falls and we chose to visit on our own rather than by a cruise circuits. Once off the ship Cruise had taxis and buses are available at the pier. Dunn's River Falls cabins were U.S. $ 22 for a round trip. Licensed Taxi 1-3 persons per vehicle. We also learned this spring that the shuttles are also small waterfalls at U.S. $ 5.50 per person. They have also been based on the return trip.
The only problem with the shuttle that we had to wait until the ferry has been completed before going to the end of the Niagara and were the first on the bus who had to wait about 15 minutes to complete. The driver asks if you want to be picked up at the fall of the return trip. Our driver suggested 2 hours to see the falls we have agreed to this duration.
Once in the fall, a woman then came onboard the shuttle sell tickets for admission to the site $ 10 per adult U.S. was the same pace in the Park ticket. Once the facility Dunn had rentals for special rubber shoes, and lockers. We conducted a small backpack that does not require payment of a closet. She also brought our diving booties so we did not rent rubber shoes on site either. The store was also cruising selling these rubber shoes in advance. Some shoes are highly recommended as the rocks of the falls can be slippery and some of the funds pools are a bit rocky. If you have old sneakers you do not mind getting wet, which will also be adapted for notes. Our dive booties proved to be sufficient. The site entrance is on the top of the falls so we have taken steps that were next fall to the bottom, where the beach and the entrance to the climb were.
There are official guides dressed in blue shirts and shorts that will be the falls groups. Normally you will be asked to perform all the cameras they can take pictures of you as you ride. Of course, they expect to be well let down by their services. In addition, the groups told to hold hands forming a human chain up the falls. This is supposed to make things safer, but as we have seen, this method of going to the fall is not a guarantee against falling. We have seen a woman letting go and fell off the rock during one of the strongest sections. She was seriously injured, but one imagines that it has suffered some blows of Nice. There are several points along the waterfall where you can download and falls back on the ladder on the rest of the road.
Not all These people tried to climb the falls have been much fun to walk alone on the dry side in the staircase. We decided not not go to one of the groups that tend to climb the left side of the waterfall. We on our way by ourselves especially on the right side. With some breaks for photos, we have Indeed, all the way to the falls in about 30 minutes. Go with a group would have taken more secure. Water is a bit cold and if you have a wet suit is highly recommended you use it for promotion. Cameras used there are the falls are also recommended for be resistant to water because they are likely to get wet. We left our digital camera ship and took an underwater camera $ 25.
After climbing the falls, we headed to the beach relatively small but very few people in the oceans has been more warm until time to leave. The output returned to the top of the falls was strategically located end of a market when I had to pass by people who tried to sell us their souvenirs. These people who worked inside the Dunn's site were upsetting, but not as aggressive as the city of Ocho Rios. The bus arrived at the parking space in time, as agreed. The total amount we spent, including entrance to the park and the shuttle was U.S. $ 31 for both. Taking a tour organized by the cruise ship would cost more than twice that amount. Therefore, it is quite possible visit Dunn's River Falls on your own instead of taking turns more expensive. We are pleased that we did see Dunn's River Falls, but we think was not as impressive as the photos show in travel brochures.
